Cantera Design Builders, LLC ( CDB ) began operations in San Antonio in September of 2004. Initial operations centered around Construction Management services for N.E. Business Group on the Interchange Business Park, located in San Antonio, Texas. The project consisted of two concrete tilt-wall warehouses totaling 250,000 square feet. While a General Contractor was previously selected, CDB was able to re-price the entire project, resulting in savings of over $200,000.00. In the beginning of 2005, CDB was hired as a General Contractor for the construction of a 112,000 square foot warehouse/office building, Tres Puentes Pad 6, in Hidalgo, Texas. CDB was able to provide preliminary hard construction costs prior to the building being fully designed, offering the Ownership entity the security of known costs and the opportunity to engage in pre-leasing prior to the start of building construction. Other projects include Titan Plastics, a 55,000 square foot building addition in McAllen, Texas, Progressive Molded Products, a 16,000 square foot building expansion in McAllen, Texas and multiple warehouse building renovations in El Paso, Texas for Archon Group, located in Irving, Texas. The constructed value of buildings for 2005 totaled over $5,200,000.00.  Cantera also has a licensed architect on staff which adds Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit capabilities to our scope of services.
